Cast from an actual tree stump in a high-density plaster resin, this biomorphic mirror is a statement piece. At some point, a person added paint to its inside rim adding depth and contrast to the bone and white outer edges. I think it works- it was applied artistically in colors reminiscent of the surface of water and has flaked off in such a way that it’s visually interesting. Mirror made by Bay Area company, Palecek- typically sold to the design trade. Dates to the mid 2010s. Hangs by substantial metal cleats, and can be positioned in any direction you choose. Perfect for compact spaces or anywhere a small to medium interesting mirror is needed.
