This custom ordered tuxedo-style three-seater has down-filled seat cushions, rolled arms, a tufted backrest and three loose back cushions. Solid mahogany base, excellent vintage condition overall. The interior designer, Arthur Morgan custom-ordered this sofa from Dunbar with the skirt which makes it really special. 100% full-grain American leather. The principal designer at Dunbar during the time this sofa was made was Edward Wormley.
The color is labeled “Clay-“ it’s a lovely soft warm brown that reflects somewhat different tones depending on light. It is a rich-looking color and will be very appropriate in a variety of modern interiors.
Arthur Morgan was a prominent Seattle based interior designer working throughout the 1950s-1960s. Noted work included Seattle public library and the Rivkin House on Mercer Island.
